UWC Atlantic, located in the historic St Donat’s Castle in Llantwit Major, Wales, is the flagship institution of the United World Colleges (UWC) movement. Established in 1962, UWC Atlantic is committed to the educational principles of its founder, Kurt Hahn, and operates with a mission-driven focus on using education as a force for good in the world.
The College, with its diverse student body of around 380 individuals from approximately 90 countries, emphasizes trust, responsibility, and accountability. UWC Atlantic is pioneering a Systems Transformation Pathway to prepare graduates for the sustained work of transforming socioecological systems and challenging unjust status quos.
