College Donations on the Rise

Earlier this year, the Council for Aid to Education released results of their annual survey, which showed that “charitable donations to colleges reached an all-time high of nearly $38 billion last year.” What is also notable is that donors increased the amount they gave to colleges in 2014 by 10.8 percent, up from $33.8 billion in 2013, with the amount donated by alumni increasing 9.4 percent in 2014. There is also an increase in mega gifts including notable art collection contributions.
