The largest provider of social services in Massachusetts, YMCA of Greater Boston has been helping men, women, boys and girls of all incomes, faiths, and cultures for more than 150 years. The YMCA empowers people and communities to learn and thrive by offering a spectrum of services, such as after-school care and summer camps, health club memberships to help rehabilitate injured veterans, and emergency housing. The Y hosts the state’s largest summer youth employment program and provides more than $10.3 million in critical services at no cost to low income participants.Nearly 90 cents of every dollar donated to the YMCA goes directly to support programs and services, not administrative costs.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the CEO, the Chief Development Officer (CDO) will manage a portfolio of top donors and prospects, as well as develop fundraising strategies in collaboration with volunteers and YMCA leadership. The CDO will also supervise the annual campaign and the Y’s largest fundraising event. A member of the Y’s senior leadership team, the CDO will be committed to the YMCA mission and the management and achievement of the organization’s philanthropic financial goals. Eight to ten years of fundraising experience, along with proven success with campaign, major gifts, and annual fundraising are required.
