For nearly 200 years, Widener University has been dedicated to providing an educational experience that combines experiential learning, career preparation, and leadership training. There are more than 6400 students in the undergraduate, master, and doctoral programs. The University also operates law schools in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, and Wilmington, Delaware. Widener’s 110 acre main campus is located just twenty minutes from Philadelphia, offering valuable opportunities for city-based internships and co-ops. In 2015, Widener completed its most successful fundraising campaign to date, Taking the Lead, raising $64.7 million to support student aid, faculty needs, new program initiatives and capital project objectives.

The Opportunity

Widener University is currently seeking a talented and exemplary professional to serve as its next Vice President of University Advancement (VP). Reporting to President Dr. Julie E. Wollman, the VP will join a highly collegial President’s Leadership Team and will oversee a team of development, alumni relations, marketing and communications professionals. Widener, which will celebrate the University’s bicentennial in 2021, is preparing for an ambitious comprehensive campaign, and the new VP will be critical in the design and execution of campaign goals and priorities. A minimum of seven years of experience in college or university advancement and a minimum of five years of staff management are required.
