The Community Foundation of Western Massachusetts, a catalyst for positive change, engages partners, raises a flexible endowment, and leverages resources to solve problems and contribute to the common good. Working across three counties (urban and rural), the Foundation harnesses the energy of its stakeholders to realize its mission of shared prosperity, social equity, and cultural richness. The Foundation seeks to enrich the quality of life of the people by encouraging philanthropy; assessing and responding to emerging and changing needs; serving as a resource and coordinator for charitable activities, and promoting efficiency in the management of charitable funds. The Foundation advances equity, diversity, and inclusion throughout the region’s three counties, including its workplaces and institutions, by prioritizing racial equity in all facets of its work.
The Foundation seeks a Vice President for Finance and Operations to play a key role in helping the Foundation realize its mission by providing strategic leadership in the areas of finance, IT, operations, and risk management. The VPFO will play a critical role in evaluating the effectiveness and long-term fit of existing systems and processes with the strategic plan and future growth goals. The VPFO weaves a commitment to advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion into all aspects of the work.
Reporting to the President and CEO, the VPFO will oversee the accounting, investing, and financial stewardship of $250 million in assets. The VPFO will be an inspiring leader who manages the financial and administrative needs of the organization. This is an ideal opportunity for a strategic thinker and a collaborative, inspirational leader with demonstrated intercultural competence to shape the systems and processes of a growing nonprofit to ensure it achieves its mission.
