The Opportunity

The Assistant Vice President for Annual Giving (AVP) is an inaugural role that presents a significant opportunity for a seasoned fundraising professional. Reporting to the Senior Associate Vice President of University Development, the AVP will lead integrated teams within the Penn Fund and School & Center Annual Giving units.

This role involves creating a comprehensive strategy for donor engagement, pipeline development, and innovative fundraising approaches. The AVP will oversee efforts to increase both long-term and immediate funding, focusing on key priorities such as financial aid and unrestricted support. By leveraging their expertise with industry trends and best practices, the AVP will enhance Penn’s overall philanthropic impact and drive growth in annual giving programs.

As a strategic leader, the AVP will collaborate with various departments and stakeholders to align annual giving initiatives with Penn’s institutional goals. This position requires strong analytical, communication, and relationship-building skills to foster productive partnerships and drive fundraising success. The AVP will also play a critical role in planning future university-wide campaigns, identifying new donor prospects, and implementing innovative engagement strategies.
