The Opportunity

Duke Health Development and Alumni Affairs is seeking a Senior Executive Director, Gift Planning to provide strategic and managerial leadership to advance all aspects of a robust and growing planned giving program for DHDAA. The Senior Executive Director will lead and manage a strategic, comprehensive, and proactive planned giving program that reflects industry best practices and maximizes charitable contributions through appropriate, donor-aligned planned giving vehicles. This leader will also advise on complex outright gifts and provide advice regarding gift agreements, endowment changes, and similar matters.

This is a rare opportunity for an accomplished planned giving fundraiser, expert manager, and confident leader to join Duke Health’s high-performing development team in a senior role. Academic medical center experience in a complex environment is preferred, along with a Juris Doctor degree. The ability to serve as a valued partner and effective driver for Duke Health’s continued growth and evolution in the planned giving space is essential.
