Senior Director for Philanthropy

Year Up , San Francisco, California

Year Up has spent the last two decades giving young people an opportunity to secure a solid foothold in the world of work or pursue a professional degree. Year Up’s mission is to close the “Opportunity Divide” by ensuring that young adults gain the skills, experiences, and support that will empower them to reach their potential through careers and higher education. Through an intensive yearlong program, young adults gain the skills necessary to be successful: networking and mentoring, real-job experience, and support and guidance navigating the job search process. A robust alumni program continues the lifelong support for Year Up graduates.

The Opportunity

Year Up is looking for a mission-driven, compassionate, creative, and entrepreneurial Senior Director of Philanthropy to build a pipeline, enhance brand recognition in high-net-worth philanthropic communities, and steward current donors in the San Francisco Bay area. This fundraising professional will be data-driven and enjoy cultivating new donors at the top of the fundraising pyramid while continuing to support and manage existing donors.

An added benefit of working with Year Up is that all staff are integrated into serving the mission itself. Year Up staff are also advisors and mentors to Year Up young people — a rare opportunity to not just work for a mission, but to be an integral part of delivering that mission.

If you are a bold, creative, and successful fundraiser with a solid sense of philanthropy in the San Francisco Bay area, are driven by metrics, and have deep compassion for being connected to the success of young people who might otherwise not have a chance to accomplish their goals and realize their dreams, this may be the perfect opportunity for you.

The salary range for this position is $175,000 – $200,000.
