As part of a vibrant 21st century research university, the Herberger Institute aims to develop and scale innovative ideas to strengthen the influence of artists and designers in all aspects of society and culture, empowering them to drive positive change in their communities.
With almost 8,000 students, more than 750 faculty and faculty associates, over 200 staff members, more than 125 degree options, and a tradition of top-ranked programs, HIDA aims to have an impact that transcends traditional boundaries around the arts. The breadth of its programming reflects a commitment to elevating the importance of the arts and design and the fundamental role creativity plays in tackling global challenges.
The Opportunity
The creativity so valued by the Herberger Institute extends to the position of Senior Director of Development. A highly experienced fundraising professional, the Senior Director of Development will design and implement innovative programs to identify potential major and principal gift donors while managing and mentoring staff to promote philanthropy efforts in support of the HIDA’s $10 million annual fundraising goal.
Reporting to the Assistant Vice President of Unit Development and serving as a member of the Dean’s leadership team, the Senior Director will work in partnership with the development team, school directors, dean, chief of staff, and/or other faculty and campus leadership to assure long-term financial support for the ASU Foundation and Arizona State University.
As they immerse themselves in the creative energy and imagination emerging from the Herberger Institute, the Senior Director of Development will embrace the Institute’s cardinal rule of collaboration and improvisation: always say, “Yes, and…” in support of transformational philanthropic initiatives.
