Saint Mary’s School in Raleigh, North Carolina, is an independent, Episcopal, college-preparatory, boarding and day school dedicated to academic excellence and personal achievement for girls in grades 9-12. Founded in 1842, Saint Mary’s School is the fourth oldest girls’ boarding school in the United States. Since its inception, Saint Mary’s has been dedicated to the academic excellence and personal achievement of its students. Saint Mary’s School offers 16 Advanced Placement courses and a full complement of honors courses, athletic competition in 11 sports, a comprehensive fine and performing arts program, leadership education, college counseling, and co-curricular programs.
The Director of Development will oversee a comprehensive development operation, including capital campaigns, major gifts, annual giving, planned giving, foundation fundraising, constituent relations, donor education, and special events. Reporting to the Head of School and working closely with the Institutional Leadership Team and the Board of Trustees, the Director of Development will also design and implement annual and long-range development plans and manage development and capital campaign budgets. Requirements include a strong commitment to single-sex education, experience working with female donors and a minimum of ten years employment within a wide-ranging development program.
