Chief Philanthropy Officer

Pratham USA , New York, New York

Created to improve the quality of education in India, Pratham USA focuses on high-quality, low-cost, and replicable interventions to address gaps in the education system. One of the largest non-governmental organizations in the nation, Pratham was established as a nonprofit in 1995 to provide education to children in the slums of Mumbai and has grown both in scope and geographical coverage. Pratham’s mission is not only to improve the quality of education in India, but also to ensure that collaboration occurs between government, local communities, parents, teachers, volunteers, and civil society members. The goal is to create an adoptable model for all state governments.

The Opportunity

The Chief Philanthropy Officer (CPO) should be a seasoned fundraiser who can think creatively about ways to engage donors and prospects in Pratham’s highly effective and critical work addressing issues such as illiteracy and job training in India. The CPO will focus on increasing awareness and recognition of Pratham’s work with the goal of developing a robust, strategic individual giving program throughout the United States drawing upon the already active regional efforts happening from coast to coast. S/He will work closely with organizational leadership and board members to identify, cultivate, engage, solicit and steward high net worth individuals capable of major, principal, and transformational gifts.
