With the goal of educating students and the public in the creation and appreciation of works of art and design, Rhode Island School of Design (RISD), also teaches how to discover and transmit knowledge, and make lasting contributions to a global society through critical thinking, scholarship, and innovation. With the approach of RISD’s 150th anniversary, the Office of Institutional Engagement is making an unprecedented investment in building a best-in-class team to engage donors, alumni, parents, faculty, and staff in a new wave of philanthropic support.

The Opportunity

The Philanthropy Officer will identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward a portfolio of 150 high-potential prospects and donors. This role is responsible for devising personalized engagement plans for each assigned prospect, leveraging RISD cultivation opportunities, presenting gift opportunity proposals that speak to a donor’s philanthropic goals while supporting the mission and goals of the College. With seven years+ of fundraising experience in designing and executing major and principal gifts strategies, the ideal candidate will possess the proven ability to manage complex organizational relationships and work effectively with executive leadership.
