Since 1997 over 10 million people have come to NJPAC for an array of the most distinctive, diverse and thrilling arts events to be found anywhere in the country, and NJPAC is well on its way to become the nation’s preeminent urban performing arts center. Philanthropic investment is key to achieving this vision, and there has never been a more exciting time to lead the entire NJPAC Development team.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the President and CEO, the Senior Vice President (SVP), Development will serve as a member of the senior leadership team and participate actively in strategic and operational planning for the institution as a whole. In partnership with the President and CEO, the SVP will be responsible for all fundraising activity from both private and public funding sources, and oversee a program that meets and exceeds annual and multi-year fundraising objectives for NJPAC.
The SVP will design and implement a comprehensive plan that engages and leverages the Development Committee of the board, the senior leadership team and the development staff for the cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of individual and organizational support. As NJPAC prepares for its next campaign, the SVP, in collaboration with the President and CEO and the board, will define the focus and priorities that will bring the campaign to a successful close. The chosen candidate will be a highly strategic thinker with strong leadership and managerial skills and the ability to develop coordinated, impactful plans. The SVP will possess a minimum of 15 years’ experience in a leadership role, preferably within a performing arts environment, and the demonstrated ability to solicit six- and seven-figure gifts.
