Director of Development, Midwest

Natural Resources Defense Council , Chicago, Illinois

Launched in 1970 at the forefront of the environmental movement, Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC) is the nation’s most effective environmental advocacy and action organization. NRDC brings together the expertise of more than 600 scientists, lawyers, and policy advocates with the goal of safeguarding the earth: its people, plants and animals and the natural systems on which life depends.

Thus, NRDC is positioned like never before to confront these new dangers with integrity, honesty, collaboration, and the unwavering pursuit of fairness, equity, and justice.

NRDC aims to ensure the rights of people to clean air, clean water and healthy communities through its important efforts to stop climate change and improve the state of our energy, food, oceans, water and the wild. Some of the nation’s bedrock environmental laws are the result, including the Clean Air Act and the Clean Water Act. NRDC uses data and science to find root causes for the problems that confront us, developing transformative solutions, mobilizing support, and using business efforts, litigation, partnership and advocacy to make change and have a positive impact on society and the world.

As NRDC prepares for its 50th anniversary, it is investing resources to grow its development team in order to meet the increasing demand for its advocacy. There has never been a more critical time to join the team that helps protect the air, land, and water on which all life depends.
