NBTS is fiercely committed to the mission of finding better treatments, and ultimately a cure, for brain tumors. There has been unprecedented progress and momentum to improve the lives of brain tumor patients and find a cure, and this is an exciting time to join the team. Throughout its history, National Brain Tumor Society has been a strategic funder, advocate, and catalyst for advancing research, improving public policies, and helping all those diagnosed today and anyone diagnosed in the future.

The Opportunity

The National Brain Tumor Society is seeking an experienced development leader to create a strategic long-term vision for the organization’s development program, develop a plan to realize that vision and with a development team, then carry it out. As Chief Development Officer (CDO), this key member of the senior management team will collaborate with the CEO and implement and oversee all aspects of the national development program, including major gifts, planned giving, special events, prospect research, donor relations, corporate and foundation giving, and Board support. The CDO will also manage specific campaign efforts and collaborate with the CEO, Board, and other leadership to develop new revenue streams. The ideal candidate will be a results-oriented catalyst for program growth, a demonstrated ability to cultivate and close gifts, with at least eight years of progressively responsible nonprofit management; life-science and healthcare experience preferred. The ideal candidate will bring a passion for the mission and excitement about the NBTS workplace culture of teamwork and professional growth.
