Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW) is widely recognized as a major teaching, research and clinical powerhouse. To that end, MCW employs approximately 1,540 physicians and more than 600 nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and other healthcare practitioners providing adult patient care as the “Medical College Physicians” and pediatric patient care through “Children’s Specialty Group,” a joint venture with Children’s Hospital and Health System. More than 1,200 students are enrolled in degree-granting educational programs at MCW. It is the largest research institution in the Milwaukee metro area and the second largest in Wisconsin. MCW is committed to building strategic community-academic partnerships.

The Opportunity

The Executive Director Alumni Relations is responsible for the planning and implementation of programs and projects that strategically engage alumni devoted to securing MCW’s future and provide tangible benefits to both alumni and current students. Working closely with the Alumni Association Board of Directors, the Executive Director will coordinate the nomination and election of alumni representatives and ensure strong and productive relationships between its members and academic and administrative leadership. Additionally, the Executive Director will establish and build relationships with a wide range of alumni, locally, regionally, nationally and internationally while encouraging them to provide professional expertise and volunteer service. S/He will partner with Development to identify, cultivate, solicit and steward annual giving and will be expected to develop annual strategic and operating plans as well as oversee and balance the budget for the Alumni Association and Alumni Relations Department. The ability to ensure accurate and complete database records and to effectively communicate with alumni through various channels is imperative to the success of this position. The selected candidate must possess a Bachelor’s degree and five years of experience in alumni relations and external affairs.
