Founded in 1942 and chartered by Congress in 1962, the League of American Orchestras leads, supports, and champions America’s orchestras and the vitality of the music they perform. The League links a network of approximately 800 member orchestras across North America and thousands of instrumentalists, conductors, managers, administrators, board members, volunteers, and business partners. The only national organization dedicated solely to the orchestral experience, the League provides knowledge, innovation, advocacy, and leadership advancement for managers, musicians, volunteers, and boards. The League’s conferences and events, award-winning magazine, website, and other publications inform music lovers around the world about orchestral activity and developments.

The Opportunity

The orchestra field is rapidly reinventing itself, and is ripe
with opportunities for an experienced and sophisticated individual who will
serve as the League’s Vice
President, Development
. The Vice President will oversee the planning,
implementation and management of fundraising programs and will act as the point
person for all matters relating to fundraising. A true leader, the VP will
establish initiatives to reach goals and oversee a strategy to increase
individual giving. A positive, results-oriented and passionate individual will
thrive in this exciting opportunity. This is a chance for someone with a deep
and demonstrated appreciation for the power and value of the arts and
orchestral music to enhance the work of member orchestras and their audiences,
and leave a lasting mark on the artistic community.
