The Kansas State University Foundation is the official
fundraising organization for Kansas State University. Their mission is to
secure and prudently manage private gifts in support of Kansas State University
and foster a culture that unites philanthropic desire. Foundation staff members
work in close partnership with university administrators, deans and faculty to
secure charitable contributions from individuals, corporations and foundations
to support identified priorities for the university. Gifts received through the
foundation fund undergraduate and graduate student scholarships, establish
faculty chairs and professorships, provide college and departmental support,
and enhance the campus infrastructure. With the help of the Foundation, Kansas
State University will reach its goal to become a top 50 public research university
by 2025.

The Opportunity

In this highly collaborative position, the Director of Foundation Relations will organize and implement a development program for the targeted cultivation of foundation prospects and is responsible for executing solicitation strategies that address specific needs and areas of excellence within the University. Reporting to the Associate Vice President of Central Development and Campaign, the Director will build and maintain close working relationships with the department of sponsored programs and other university partners to cultivate and solicit new foundation prospects that align with K-State research, academic programs and the strategic plans and needs of the University. S/He will work with constituencies of existing foundation partnerships held by K-State and the KSU Foundation to identify opportunities to advance these relationships and develop the strategies to do so. The incumbent will have a Bachelor’s degree and five years of professional, related experience in a metric-focused fundraising environment, plus three years of development experience focused on foundation relations in a higher education or similar fundraising organization.
