Established in 1953, the J. Paul Getty Trust is the world’s largest cultural and philanthropic institution dedicated to the visual arts. The Trust, which has hosted more than 20 million visitors in the last two decades, is composed of four programs: Getty Conservation Institute, the J. Paul Getty Museum, the Getty Research Institute, and the Getty Foundation. In addition to promoting visual arts through extensive cultural heritage conservation work, a world-renowned museum, and the 44 miles of shelves in the research library, the Trust has awarded nearly 7,000 grants to individuals and institutions in 180 countries, representing all seven continents.

The Opportunity

The J. Paul Getty Trust is seeking a Senior Development Officer (SDO) to serve as an integral player in a growing institutional advancement department. Reporting to the Vice President for Development, the SDO will be responsible for cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding individual and corporate supporters of the major gifts program for the J. Paul Getty Museum, the Getty Research Institute and the Getty Conservation Institute. The chosen candidate for this position will possess a passion for art and culture, the skill to lead fundraising initiatives, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced program. The ideal candidate will have at least seven years of experience, particularly with fundraising on the West Coast.
