Executive Philanthropy Director

Center for BrainHealth at the University of Texas at Dallas , Dallas, Texas

The Center for BrainHealth® at the University of Texas at Dallas, a Tier One national research university, is a global leader in the exploration of the brain. Founded in 1999 by Sandra Bond Chapman, Ph.D., the Center is dedicated to advancing the science of brain health: how the brain best learns, reasons, and innovates; actionable ways to protect it from decline; and proactive protocols to repair and regenerate brain systems. The Center’s interdisciplinary team of experts is at the forefront of an entirely new field focused on the brain’s lifelong upward potential. The team is boldly impatient to bring proven discoveries to the public at the earliest time possible. Focusing on the care and well-being of our most vital organ translates to universal benefit: lives better lived.

The Opportunity

The Center has become one of the leading recipients of philanthropic support in North Texas for its proven research and clinical activities on improving brain performance. The next Executive Philanthropy Director (EPD) will engage and steward existing donors while expanding the donor base beyond North Texas. The successful candidate will plan and manage the Center’s next comprehensive campaign while also serving as a strategic contributor to raising national brand awareness for the Center’s bold vision of unlocking human potential through improved brain health and performance. This is a once-in-a-career opportunity to join a nationally recognized team on the cusp of a revolution in brain health.

The successful candidate will be a highly motivated, creative thinker who is comfortable with health, science, and research funding and has a proven track record of securing major and principal gifts. As a visible member of the internal and external team, the EPD must be a poised and confident communicator able to successfully engage a broad range of constituents. The ability to build relationships across the organization, within the region, and throughout the state and nationally to drive philanthropic support will be critical to the success of this role. This position is a unique career opportunity to combine development success with the expansion of brand awareness onto a national stage.
