Founded in 1970, University City Children’s Center (UCCC) today reflects the founders’ visionary desire to create a safe, nurturing environment where children from different socioeconomic, ethnic, and cultural backgrounds can learn and play together in an atmosphere that is respectful of diversity and individuality. LUME Institute is an early childhood education research and professional development provider and believes the power to change society lies in changing the way young children are taught. LUME grew out of UCCC in 2012 in response to frequent requests from other early care and education providers who wanted to learn the practices that make UCCC successful with children and sought after by families.

The Opportunity

The University City Children’s Center and LUME Institute Board of Directors seeks an Executive Director to lead a strategic and results-oriented planning process to create the infrastructure for a sustainable, scalable model for future success moving from regional prominence to national impact. The Executive Director will work across private, public, and corporate partnerships, serving as the chief ambassador, lead relationship-builder, and front-line fundraiser for the organization. Acting as the brand steward and decision-maker, the ED will embrace, elevate, and protect the reputation of UCCC/LUME by designing and leveraging strategies for far-reaching investment and impact.
