The Opportunity

Binghamton seeks a strategic, dynamic, and collaborative leader with a strong track record of engaging alumni and building volunteer partnerships to be its next Executive Director of Alumni Engagement.  The Director, a senior member of the Advancement team, reports to the Vice President for Advancement and is responsible for directing and executing Binghamton’s overall Alumni Relations program, which engages a global constituency of over 140,000 alumni. The next Director will support the vision for programming and constituent engagement in partnership with a University-wide fundraising campaign that will be publicly launched in spring 2022. This is a phenomenal opportunity for someone to build on the existing relationships with Binghamton alumni while engendering new and innovative strategies and programming to attract more alumni and volunteers to the institution.

The next Director should possess excellent public speaking skills, have prior board experience, and work effectively with campus partners, and be experienced in senior-level management. The Director will have at least five years of relevant experience in alumni relations programs with demonstrated success in developing alumni relations and/or general advancement programs and thoughtful management of budgets and resources.  Additionally, the ideal candidate will be instrumental in forming close relationships with campus partners, be committed to engaging alumni in a myriad of ways, exhibit a vivacious persona, and be an effective leader, mentor, and coach to alumni, staff, students, volunteers, and community members.
