The Opportunity

The Executive Director, Development position with MIT Sloan is a unique leadership role that offers a seasoned development professional the opportunity to join a best-in-class leadership team. Overseeing principal, major, leadership, and annual giving, the ED will lead a team of more than 15 professional staff to achieve MIT Sloan’s ambitious post-campaign goals. With an eye to the future, the ED is charged with strengthening the existing programs while creating forward-thinking strategies and opportunities for donors at all levels including transformational gifts and increased engagement with Executive MBA alumni. With a disciplined approach to portfolios and moves management, the ED will lead the team in fully leveraging giving interest and capacity.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with donors and volunteers at the highest level, will have successfully closed multiple six- and seven-figure gifts showing an ability to navigate complex giving needs and priorities, and will bring the knowledge of how to lead with a clarity of vision rooted in collaboration, empowerment, and strategic planning. As MIT Sloan has a global reach with students, faculty, and alumni, experience with international fundraising is desirable as is a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
