Ranked among the top centers in the nation for cancer services according to U.S. News & World Report, Duke Cancer Institute (DCI) is a recognized leader in developing new drugs, cancer vaccines, and novel approaches to treating cancer and related symptoms through ongoing clinical trials. It offers a level of cancer expertise and experience only found in the top four percent of U.S. centers designated as a National Cancer Institute Comprehensive Cancer Center. The Institute is part of Duke Health, which is in the midst of a historic five-year, $1.2 billion fundraising campaign to cement its position as a global leader in discovery, clinical care, and education.
The Opportunity
The Major Gifts Officer will develop programs and strategies to identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward grateful patients, families, and friends for significant gifts to fund Duke Cancer Institute projects and priorities. The Major Gifts Officer will carry a portfolio of approximately 75 prospects at various stages of engagement. Through partnerships with faculty, the ideal candidate will be able to effectively understand and articulate the critical work of the Duke Cancer Institute, so that grateful patients and others with the capacity to do so will support the DCI’s important endeavors.
