The Opportunity

The UNC Health Foundation is seeking a Director of Development, Cardiology, to spearhead the acquisition of private philanthropic contributions. This role entails overseeing a portfolio of donors and prospects to secure major and principal gifts that will fuel the Foundation’s work. Reporting to the Senior Executive Director of Development, Advancing Health, and working alongside Dr. George “Rick” Stouffer, Chief of the Division of Cardiology, the Director will cultivate key relationships and deepen engagement and support for the UNC Health Foundation.

The ideal candidate should possess fundraising experience in academic medicine, hospital organizations, or Tier I research institutions and a proven track record of successfully closing significant six- and seven-figure gifts. They should also excel at building donor-centered relationships and collaborating with physicians and faculty members to engage new donors and inspire ongoing support for the Foundation’s growth.
