The University Club of Chicago is one of the city’s oldest and most enduring institutions fostering a culture of collegiality, diversity, and curiosity. The Club offers its members a vibrant environment that celebrates education, excellence, and community. While the societal climate of the past couple of years in the country has certainly presented challenges and changes for many organizations, Club leadership has acted on this opportunity to reenergize, reinvigorate, and rethink every aspect of its member experience. One of these initiatives fueled the launch of a new team – the Culture and Community Division.
The Opportunity
With the launch of the Culture and Community Division, the Club seeks a Director of Communications. This Director will be a key component of the team to promote a positive image of the Club, both internally and externally, and deepen engagement with new and existing members through consistent and compelling communications. The Director will design and implement initiatives to manage, develop, and execute public relations and communications strategies for the University Club. This 135-year-old institution is experiencing a renaissance in its membership numbers and across its culinary, programs, and athletics departments. There has never been a more exciting time to join the University Club of Chicago.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of media/public relations as well as the ability and grace to embrace the diversity of thought and power of connection for which the Club is known.
