Associate Vice President for Advancement

DePaul University , Chicago, Illinois

With just 70 students when it was founded in 1898, DePaul University has grown to become the nation’s largest Catholic university. DePaul, named for St. Vincent de Paul, has maintained its commitment to serve students who might otherwise be denied a quality education, from turn-of-the-century women and returning veterans to first-generation, low-income city residents. Its urban, multicultural perspective has led to innovative programs and a hands-on learning approach that reflects its deep ties throughout Chicago and a growing international influence.

The Opportunity

Building on the second-most successful fundraising year in the history of the university, and in the midst of its most successful fundraising year ever, DePaul is seeking a dynamic Associate Vice President (AVP) to provide strategic oversight and management of the fundraising activities and teams, corporate and foundation relations, and advancement stewardship. Reporting to the Vice President for Advancement and a member of the senior leadership team, the AVP will play a central role in major and principal gifts as well as in strategy development for the Vice President, and others, and hold a personal portfolio. In collaboration with VP and the Office of the Secretary, the AVP will help identify and cultivate potential Trustees and consult with the VP on providing meaningful engagement opportunities for Trustees.

Possessing a successful record of accomplishment of cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding individuals and entities, the next AVP will have extensive experience in providing leadership to and management of principal and major gift development officers.
