The Opportunity

Colby College is seeking a Director of Gift Planning to guide and lead this key component of Colby’s advancement program. The ideal candidate will be the chief strategist for gift planning, offering leadership, vision and direction. The Director will be charged with growing substantially the membership of the Willows Society, Colby’s gift planning society, as a key component of Colby’s comprehensive campaign. S/he will cultivate relationships with prospects, and provide stewardship for bequests, real estate gifts, life income gifts and other complex assets. The Director will manage the Associate Director of Gift Planning and reports directly to the Associate Vice President of College and Student Advancement. Some travel will be required. A minimum of five years’ experience in fundraising, legal or financial work related to gift planning is required.
