Founded in 1918, The Cleveland Orchestra is hailed as one of the best orchestras on the planet. The 2021–22 season marks the ensemble’s 20th year under the direction of Franz Welser-Möst, one of today’s most acclaimed musical leaders. The 100-plus member Cleveland Orchestra divides its time across concert seasons at home — in Cleveland at Severance and each summer at Blossom Music Center.
The Orchestra seeks a Campaign Director to oversee the strategy and implementation of the Orchestra’s $335 million campaign. Spanning from 2021 to 2027 the campaign is focused on reimagining the Orchestra’s future and building a legacy for generations to come. Reporting to the Chief Development Officer Jane Hargraft and working closely with President and CEO André Gremillet, the Campaign Director will oversee all aspects of the campaign including the management of a campaign cabinet that includes regional, national, and international volunteer leaders.
The ideal candidate will be an accomplished major and principal gifts fundraiser with direct experience managing a campaign – preferably within a performing arts organization. The Director will be a sophisticated diplomat who will work to encourage and motivate campaign leadership to achieve ambitious goals. A sense of humor and a sincere and genuine interest in classical music required.
