Brookings brings together more than 300 leading experts in government and academia from all over the world who provide the highest quality research, policy recommendations, and analysis on a full range of public policy issues. Its research agenda and recommendations are rooted in open-minded inquiry and represent diverse points of view. Within Brookings, there are five research programs: Economic Studies, Foreign Policy, Global Economy and Development, Governance Studies, and Metropolitan Policy.

The Opportunity

The Brookings Institution is seeking an outstanding communicator and fundraising leader to become Vice President of Development. This individual will partner closely with Brookings’ president and be a key part of the senior management team, influencing the organization’s culture of philanthropy. The Vice President of Development will provide philanthropic strategy, vision, leadership and guidance, soliciting new and ongoing sources of funds, and coordinating and supporting the fundraising needs of the key research programs. The ideal candidate will have at least 15 years of experience, preferably in a large, complex organization, and a track record of closing 7- and 8-figure gifts.
