Head of Advancement, ANU College of Health and Medicine

Australian National University Canberra

Since 1946, The Australian National University (ANU) has grown to become a resource for the nation and the world. Consistently ranked as Australia’s number one university, it also ranks among the world’s finest universities. ANU’s distinctive research culture is renowned: of the seven Nobel Prizes awarded for work undertaken in Australia, ANU can claim four. Three of which come from the John Curtain School of Medical Research in the College of Health and Medicine.

One of ANU’s seven academic colleges, the ANU College of Health and Medicine is a leading contributor to national health policy and medical research. It equips graduates with the skills to improve health outcomes on a local level and tackle the national and global health challenges we are facing today and will face in the future.

The Opportunity

Philanthropy and alumni engagement are increasingly essential to how ANU supports its students, advances its research, and furthers its international collaborations. ANU Advancement has been building the philanthropic foundation for ANU, upon which the University plans to launch its first comprehensive and significant fundraising campaign.

The Head of Advancement is a critical position within the ANU College of Health and Medicine and a senior member of the University’s Development Team. This role will be responsible for building, coordinating, and executing a framework for prioritising and engaging with the University’s prospects and supporters to optimise fundraising and alumni engagement for the College. This person will have a strong external focus and will develop and maintain important relationships with donors and prospects. Inspiring a culture of philanthropy and collaboration across the College and beyond to successfully build and grow the College’s fundraising program to its greatest potential is fundamental.

The successful candidate will be a sophisticated fundraiser with energy, commitment, and an exceptional track record in relationship management with major donors. If you are a passionate and experienced senior fundraising professional seeking a challenging and rewarding role in a unique, research-intensive academic environment, we strongly encourage your application. Experience in healthcare or academic medicine strongly recommended.
