Associate Dean for External Affairs

UCLA School of Law
Hybrid/Los Angeles, California

Founded in 1949, UCLA School of Law is one of the top-ranked law schools in the United States. The School grew out of state lawmakers’ sustained efforts in the 1940s to create Southern California’s first public law school — more affordable and accessible than private institutions. Its faculty are influential teachers and scholars, and its 18,000-plus alumni are leaders in government, industry, social justice, and the legal profession. The School offers students a strong foundation in the law and practical training in a collaborative, intellectually rich environment.

The Opportunity

UCLA School of Law consistently pushes new boundaries in the study and practice of law and is committed to developing elite faculty, innovative curriculum, inclusive community, and endless opportunity. In this spirit of expanding the bounds of what is possible, the School seeks an accomplished, creative, and strategic leader with demonstrated fundraising success to serve as Associate Dean for External Affairs (ADEA). As ADEA, you will become a force for change and transformation as you guide the School to raise funds that ensure the next generation of lawyers benefits from the legacy that is uniquely and distinctly UCLA Law.

In partnership with a highly engaged and dynamic Dean, the ADEA will serve as a thought partner in elevating one of UCLA’s top performing units, focusing on annual giving, major and principal gifts, corporate and foundation giving, alumni affairs, and special events.

As a member of the broader UCLA Development team, the ADEA will be part of a best-in-class fundraising program that partners with academic leaders and philanthropists to advance UCLA’s greatest aspirations. The ADEA will have the advantage of working with some of the top fundraising professionals in the country as UCLA actively plans for the University’s next comprehensive, multi-billion-dollar campaign.

This is a unique opportunity to make an indelible impact at one of the premier public universities in the United States.

The salary range for this position is $225,000–$250,000.
