The Opportunity

Excitement abounds at NYU as the first woman to serve as the University’s 17th president, Linda G. Mills, prepares to take the helm in July 2023. The University seeks a skilled and entrepreneurial leader to serve as Assistant Vice President for Annual Giving (AVP) who will advance the new president’s priorities through a robust and creative operation focused on increasing overall participation among its various constituencies. Reporting to the Vice President of Alumni Relations, Annual Giving, and Communications and Marketing, the AVP will lead an overall team of 15 to develop strategic plans for engagement and growth of the annual giving program across the University Development and Alumni Relations (UDAR) team and within NYU’s various schools and units. The AVP will have direct oversight of the Annual Giving, Direct Marketing, and Digital Giving programs and will be responsible for developing a focus on diversity, equity, and inclusion in all engagement efforts.

The successful candidate will bring 10-plus years of experience leading annual funds and frontline staff through data-driven approaches, as well as exemplary interpersonal and team-building qualities.

The salary range for this position is $180,000 – $200,000.
