In March 1826, the citizens of Easton received a charter signed by the governor of Pennsylvania, establishing Lafayette College. It is a highly selective undergraduate liberal arts, and engineering institution with an endowment ranked in the top 2% nationally of independent colleges. The College offers a Bachelor of Arts degree in 34 fields and a Bachelor of Science degree in 15 fields, including five in engineering. Professors challenge their students to move beyond the familiar, comfortable, and easy. They dare them to live boldly as thinkers, doers, and leaders. Lafayette believes everyone in the community shares responsibility for creating, maintaining, and developing a learning environment in which difference is valued, equity is sought, and inclusiveness is practiced.
Lafayette College seeks a talented individual with a strong background in alumni relations and fundraising to be its next Assistant Vice President (AVP) of Alumni Engagement and Annual Giving. The AVP will play a pertinent role in propelling the College’s fundraising, engagement, and outreach efforts while valuing the principles of sustainability, innovation, community, and diversity and inclusion. This is a great opportunity for someone to build on the momentum of relationships with current alumni while simultaneously engaging new alumni and members in the community. The individual should possess creativity and strategic ability in fundraising initiatives as the institution prepares for its bicentennial in 2026.
The ideal candidate will be adept at fundraising, instrumental in engaging alumni (particularly young alumni), exude ingenuity and strategic thinking, and be an excellent public speaker and communicator. The AVP will be a phenomenal storyteller; have a commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging; and most importantly, be dedicated to the mission and values of Lafayette College.
