Research Associate Job Description

The Research Associate provides general and targeted research support. Working closely with the entire Search Team, the Research Associate will understand our Clients’ needs and then develop and implement a proactive, innovative sourcing strategy to target a diverse pool of qualified candidates for our nonprofit searches. The Research Associate will perform advanced sourcing by utilizing social media, the Internet, and database mining to target a qualified set of candidates. This position will also proactively develop and maintain the database of potential candidates for future reference.

JOB DESCRIPTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Search Research and Sourcing
• As part of the Research team, collaborate with Search Consultants to understand Clients’ needs in order to identify qualified candidates.
• In conjunction with the Search Consultants, develop and implement a proactive, innovative research strategy to target a diverse pool of candidates.
• Conduct and review Internet searches to source potential qualified candidates, conduct database searches, input findings, and track results.
• Qualify and rank candidates for Search Consultants and produce candidate-sourcing reports.
• Continually add qualified candidates to a search after the research phase to develop a robust pool and pipeline.

Proactive Research
• Utilize social media tools and networking to find and attract qualified candidates.
• Establish a presence online; proactively review nonprofit forums and news publications and share relevant information with the Search and Business Development Teams as appropriate.
• Oversee special projects (e.g., list building, data mining, etc.) and conduct additional research projects as appropriate, including business development research.

Database Integrity/Systems Training
• Add and update the Lindauer Applicant Tracking System (ATS) database with candidate information from online Express Interest Forms, email inquiries, conference attendee lists, and other sources.
• Ensure all data in the ATS is accurate, complete, and refreshed regularly.
• Comply with data integrity policies and follow all best practices to ensure that data is entered correctly.
• As requested and required, assist staff members with technology and computer systems, including training.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

• At least three years experience in prospect or donor research or talent acquisition or sourcing research.
• Exceptional ability to manage time and handle multiple tasks and changing priorities.
• Demonstrated ability to identify unknown sources and to creatively break into new and innovative sources of information.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with superior ability to produce concise reports.
• Complete tasks in a professional and timely manner, producing high-quality and accurate results.
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and in possession of a “can do” attitude.
• Excellent command of business technology software and programs, including the Microsoft Office Suite, and cloud-based online systems (Salesforce, Box, Zoom, etc.).
• Bachelor’s degree.
