academics, athletics, and philanthropic support, West Virginia University has
stepped into the national and international spotlight. Highly ranked by
numerous sources, and among a prestigious few that have earned the Carnegie
Foundation’s Community Engagement Classification, WVU is active in communities
both local and around the world. Established in 1954, the WVU Foundation
provides fundraising services for the University and its affiliated
organizations. WVU has recently achieved a historic
milestone, surpassing its $1 billion State of Minds Campaign goal more than a year ahead of schedule.
