Berea
College is the only one of America’s top-rated colleges that provides every enrolled
student a no-tuition promise. Founded in 1855 by ardent
abolitionists and radical reformers, Berea was the first interracial and
coeducational college in the South. Today, Berea is consistently ranked as one
of the leading private liberal arts college in the United States. This
recognition is earned by focusing on rigorous academic standards and graduating
students with little or no student loan debt. Nearly 1,600 students are
enrolled in Berea from over 60 nations and 40
states in the U.S., with a particular emphasis on students
from the underprivileged Appalachian area. Berea is one of only seven federally
recognized work colleges in the United States and every Berea student is
employed 10-15 hours per week in a campus position for a practical and
educational work experience. Guided by an inclusive Christian
message of impartial love,Berea
College is truly committed to the equality of all
women and men from all “nations and climes.”
