The Hebrew University of Jerusalem opened in 1925 and has become Israel’s premier university and leading research institution. With multidisciplinary activities in Israel and overseas and a student body of 23,000 from 70 countries, the school aims to expand knowledge; preserve and research Jewish, cultural, spiritual and intellectual traditions; and train scientific, educational, and professional leaders.

The American Friends of The Hebrew University of Jerusalem (AFHU) is a U.S.-based nonprofit that provides financial support for the university’s academic, research and service programs. With headquarters in New York, AFHU operates regional offices in the Midwest, Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, Southeast, West and Pacific Northwest.

AFHU has embarked on a 2-year campaign goal of $120 million through fiscal year 2019; the Southeast region is responsible for $14.6M.
