University President brings a renewed focus on philanthropy and closed fiscal
year 2016 with its highest giving year to date, with a total of $11.6 million.

The Opportunity

As
the chief advancement officer for EMU, the Vice
President for Advancement and
Executive Director of the Foundation will provide strategic leadership in
development and alumni relations and define a culture of philanthropy that
engages over 165,000 alumni worldwide, as well as the faculty, employees, and
the community. In addition to strengthening alliances with current major
donors, the Vice President will launch an initiative to identify and target
additional individuals capable of making major gifts and s/he must develop and launch a major capital campaign. The selected candidate
will lead the establishment and implementation of development priorities; utilize
and engage the Foundation and Alumni Boards; and actively participate in the
President’s senior leadership team. A Bachelor’s degree is required with an
advanced degree preferred; experience with major and principal gifts and capital
campaigns is required. The selected candidate will possess a proven track
record of success in a supervisory role as well as a deep appreciation for
