Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology (RHIT) was founded in 1874 as the Rose Polytechnic Institute. For 16 years in a row, U.S. News & World Report has ranked Rose-Hulman number one among institutions with master’s in engineering as its highest degree. RHIT is home to 2,100 undergraduate and 100 graduate students majoring in engineering, science or mathematics, and the classrooms boast faculty student ratios of 1:13, with class sizes averaging just 20 students. Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology is also ranked in the Payscale Top 10 for starting salaries, with nearly 100 percent of students obtaining jobs after graduation at an average starting salary of $64,000.

The Opportunity

The Executive Director of Development will have a major impact on the future of RHIT by providing leadership and management support to the individual giving program including annual, major, and leadership gifts. The Executive Director will be challenged with meeting or exceeding annual and multi-year fundraising goals. S/He will supervise the Major Gifts team and will be responsible for addressing the professional growth of the department. Additionally, the Executive Director will provide management support for annual gifts programs including the phone-a-thon, e-solicitation, social media and direct mail. The selected candidate will be expected to manage a portfolio of 50-75 major gifts prospects. A Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of five to seven years of progressively responsible experience in fundraising operations and management is required. A Master’s degree and experience in a college or school of engineering or science in a higher education setting is preferred.
