Susan Kurnas

Vice President of Marketing and Communications

Susan Kurnas

Just as development and advancement search is the sole focus for Lindauer, driving business is the main goal for Susan Kurnas as Vice President of Marketing and Communications. She leads a team of marketers, copywriters and designers to deliver strategic initiatives that will attract quality clients and candidates for the Search Team.

Susan began her career as a copywriter for a nationally syndicated broadcaster. She then joined a Manhattan advertising agency where she honed her skills as a writer/producer. Upon moving to Boston, Susan served as Marketing Director for a nationally franchised weight control organization founded and managed by Lois Lindauer. There, Susan promoted the brand in the highly competitive market of the time.

Susan also fulfilled client needs through her own company, SK Creative. She produced many projects for both for-profit and nonprofit organizations, and penned a column, MAX-on-MEDIA, for MAX Magazine, then a supplement to the Boston Herald. In 2003, Susan was recruited by one of her retail clients, BJ’s Wholesale Club, to create a corporate copy department. Promoted to Creative Director in 2006, Susan founded and managed the company’s first in-house creative agency and won multiple industry awards for branding in the process.

In 2011, Susan renewed her business relationship with Lois Lindauer by joining Lindauer as the Director of Business Development. As the firm grew, she eventually evolved to her current position today. A graduate of Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania, Susan is an active member of the Ad Club of Boston and the New England Writers Guild.
